As a school, we believe music has a unique contribution to make to the education of all children, not just those with the potential to become great professional musicians and composers. We know that the creativity at the heart of music-making motivates young people to succeed across the whole curriculum. Music promotes social and cultural values, uniting and building our diverse community.
On Ash Wednesday 5th March at 5:00 Am in the morning 39 staff and students from St Greg’s set off to Gatwick to begin our pilgrimage to Rome. After a smooth flight and easy transfer to our guesthouse (called Villa Benedetta) we spend 5 miraculous days exploring Rome, having Mass in some of the most stunning churches and basilicas and frolicking around Assisi in the spirit of St Francis.
The school health nurse is changing to Sue Bolton, but she continues to be in St Gregory the Great school on Mondays.
The school nurse is now based within the Sixth Form centre. Students are still able to access the nurse for appointments, they just ask Mrs Shields on reception who is happy to let them in and show them the office.
The school nurse drop in will continue to be at Monday first break (11:10-11:35) in this office in sixth form, any student is able to drop in and speak confidentially to me about their health or wellbeing.
