Welcome to St Gregory the Great 4 -19 Catholic School and what we hope will be a long and happy association between parents, students and staff.
Welcome to our school; the only Catholic secondary school in Oxford City, and one of only two Catholic secondary schools in Oxfordshire. At St Gregory’s we pride ourselves on our warm and inclusive community, where children of all faiths and none are welcome to share in our high aspirations and ambitions, founded in our Catholic faith. Our core values are those of compassion, integrity, justice and wisdom, and we believe that we are a strong and supportive community because we aspire to learn together, live together, love together, and celebrate together.
It is a great privilege to have been given the opportunity to lead the school through an exciting time in its history. With a remarkable campus in the centre of East Oxford, with excellent sports facilities and a dedicated team of inspirational teachers, the school has always had a reputation for going the extra mile for its students. After the development of our new buildings, we are going to be able to offer even more opportunities to students to enhance their education, and our staff are constantly working on new and more effective ways to support students in their attempts to achieve the very best of which they are capable.
Our school is growing all the time—growing as students and parents become ever more positive and enthusiastic about the range and depth of the education that we offer. Last year, we were given permission to expand our campus and admit children from 4 years of age, and our new Primary school section is rapidly growing, with a state-of-the-art building founded on the strongest educational principles. Read more about it here and perhaps book a visit to see around the school. Though the school is already working, the formal opening of the new buildings will be on February 5th—we will keep you posted on this exciting event as our plans develop.
As part of the Dominic Barberi Multi Academy Company, we work alongside six of our Primary Catholic Partners to enhance provision for Catholic Education in South Oxfordshire. Our Partners are: St Joseph’s, Thame; Our Lady’s, Cowley; St John Fisher, Blackbird Leys; St Thomas More, Kidlington; Our Lady of Lourdes, Witney; and St Joseph’s, Carterton. You can find out more details on the new Academy and its Primary Partners here.
The website will tell you more about what we have to offer, and give you a snapshot of what the school is like through its reports on news and events. However, there is no substitute for a personal visit. If you are considering becoming part of our school, as a teacher, parent, student or volunteer, you are warmly invited to come and experience for yourself how what we call the ‘St Gregory Way’ of learning looks like in action.
